KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT BORDERS Established with an objective of equipping the young minds of South Asian region with world-class cutting edge knowledge and nurturing Regional Consciousness, South Asian University (SAU) came into existence in 2010. It is a result of a joint effort of the eight member nations of South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) viz. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Located in New Delhi, SAU presently offers post graduate masters and research programmes in Science and Social Sciences. The students of this international university are drawn primarily from the 8 member countries of the SAARC. The cosmopolitan nature of the campus culture is further complemented by the fact that the faculty members and administrative staff are made up of seasoned academicians and experienced professionals from various parts of South Asia. Already a fertile ground for bright young minds with thought provocative ideas, South Asian University is an epitome of all the good things people can achieve through co-operation. The university is currently functioning from its Akbar Bhawan Campus in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. The permanent campus of SAU is being developed at a government allotted plot in Maidan Garhi, New Delhi. The construction of the permanent campus commenced in May 2016 and is going on in full swing. When the university moves in to this campus, it will expand to accommodate 11 faculties in all with a student count of more than 5000.
